Our S.A.L.T. (Share and Learn Together) lunchtime group for children celebrates being 18 years old this year. Mrs Coltham who leads the group says
" It's been a fantastic 18 years and we have welcomed several hundred children over that time.
Together we have learnt about God, prayed together, read the bible, played games, made crafts, discussed our faith, asked questions about Jesus and learnt more about his life. We have had SALT assemblies, written to the Prime Minister and had a visit from the M.P. for Ipswich. We have prayed for many in need across the world, raised money for Christian Aid and Tearfund by making small craft items. We have written to our sponsored child Haby, made Christmas cards for the homeless staying at The Winter Night Shelter. A few years ago we made a banner that hangs in a small church in Kenya. Most recently whilst thinking of others we sent a card to the school affected by the death of Saffie the little girl killed in the Manchester bombing. We have much fellowship together every week and occasionally have treats our favourite is Fairtrade chocolate! We are celebrating with a party and games at the end of term. I am joined by dedicated helpers every week and we all feel the children have encouraged us in our faith too."
