Building Work at the start of the Autumn Term 2016

I hope that you have had a good summer break.

I regret to inform you that due to unforeseen circumstances, we have had to fence/close off the Reception and Year 1 classrooms, as repairs that were due to be finished during the summer as yet have not been completed to a satisfactory standard.

We have been informed that the remedial building work necessary, before the classrooms can be used again, will take a maximum of 3 weeks.

I appreciate that this is an inconvenience and will cause some disruption, but the safety of the children is our priority.

During the period that the classrooms remain out of use the following arrangements will be in place

Before and After School Clubs that are usually held in the school hall will not start until week beginning 26th September 2016.

The hall will have to become a teaching space, so all lunches will have to be eaten in classrooms. Therefore, as we will not be able to serve hot food in class rooms, the kitchen will provide cold/packed lunches to all children in KS1, any children in receipt of free school meals in KS2 and any child in KS2 who wishes to order a school packed lunch (at a cost of £2.20).

Year 1 will be based in the hall.

Reception children will be based in the library.

Assemblies will be held in Church.

Of course, if the remedial work is completed sooner, then school will operate as usual.

Again, I am sorry for any inconvenience, but the safety of the children is paramount.

Thank you for your support in this matter.

Mrs Todd
