Thinking about becoming an academy

The Governing Body has decided to explore whether St Matthew’s CEVAP School should become an Academy under the Diocesan Multi Academy Trust rather than stay with the Local Authority. A letter has been sent to all parents explaining the reasons for this move and inviting the parents to attend one of two meetings where they will hear more and be able to ask questions. Jane Sheat, Director of Education for the Diocese, will be at the meetings and will be happy to explain what the change would mean and answer questions.

In order to ensure that as many parents as possible can attend, there will be two meetings:

• Wednesday 1st November at 2:30pm;

• Wednesday 1st November at 5.30pm at St Matthew’s CEVAP School.

This is an important decision for the school but the Governing Body feel that it is a natural development and progression for the school and would help to further the quality of teaching and learning in the school.

Please attend one of the meetings and find out more.
