Year 4

Welcome to Year 4

4B's class teacher is Mrs Bannister and

4W's is Mr Warren. Our teaching assistants are Mrs Turner, Miss Moss, Miss Grant and Miss Warren.

Our topic this term is the Ancient Maya. We will be explorers and adventurers into the Maya civilisation and culture. We will be learning all about who the Maya were and all about their mysterious history.

In our English lessons we are learning to make our writing more interesting and grammatically accurate by using a wide range of techniques. We are making sure that we ALWAYS use capital letters at the start of a sentence and the correct punctuation at the end. We will be learning to use lots of different styles of writing throughout the term and will put these into practise when planning and writing our own texts.

Our Maths lessons will be focused on place value for the first half term to ensure we are all secure with place value. Our target as a year group is to learn our times tables up to 12 x12 off by heart as these will help us in all maths based tasks.
